What does it mean to go forward in fidelity to the grace of our vocation?
Group #19 responded:
Fidelity is key. We keep changing. Grace – the grace of God that calls us. Contrary to normal routine – we are challenged.
Vocation is to become Christ. Synergy of union with my will to the will of God. We are to be transformed in the ordinariness of our lives. We are to be open and allow ourselves to be open.
Forward – we are continually learning how to go on. Prayer – liturgy
We are gaining grace as we go. We are headed to become more Christ-like. Do we need to do anything? We need to empty ourselves of our worries and attachments. I can commune with God that way in any one particular moment. The Glory of God is not something to capture. How can we be of benefit to the rest of the Catholic community-we are all one. Do we get enough benefit to our prayers? Love. No difference between giving and receiving. The Holy Spirit is working through you. Charity, Joy & Peace. Experience joy through charity, then you have the peace of Christ. As a Carmelite – we’re giving to our fellow man in prayer. Our rule talks about solitude and prayer – when we give ourselves to God, the Holy Spirit acts through us. Everyday is a holy struggle. Do we reject graces with our lack of listening? We must pay attention to that dialog. We need to be faithful to the scriptures to be able to open ourselves to God. The Constitutions give us the tools to open ourselves to graces to go forward in our vocation. We must be prepared by our Carmelite community to function in the Church. To be faithful to our vocation requires faithful support of the magisterium.
