Group #7 responded:
All of our predecessors have had to grapple with holy creative tension, such as that expressed in the Flaming Arrow. What is it in your life?
The tension of contemplative vs. active.
The stress of everyday life, busy in parish, family, etc.
OCD wants us to be active and to give – serving others. That’s what Jesus came to do – to serve others.
Interior Castle “our prayer gives strength and certitude to our daily lives. OCDS helps us keep focus on details of daily life but to “be Christ to others”
Whatever we do we want to live in the presence of God.
Need that tension keep us in need of God.
Keeps life balanced.
Do the prayer first to have the strength.
It’s hard to love others at times God gives the strength.
The tension of keeping the rule try each day
Always in His presence
Use prudent discretion in all we do. Tendency of scrupulosity helped by the OCDS life of prayer.
Duty may take precedence.
Couples – in the beginning husband took care of children, then husband joined. The blessing of sharing faith and Carmel as a couple.
Tension changes as stage of life changes. We are forced to change.
Accepting changes important. Overcome stones in the path with the Lord.
