What is the impact of great growth of OCDS?
Creates a need for more priests.
Provide vocations from our families.
Bring Carmelite Spirituality to parishes – service.
Influences our sharing, teaching, etc.
Some people don’t know what a OCDS Congress is.
Meeting and taking back to our group.
We could help inform others about Secular Order. Educate others especially younger people.
Physically help the OCD Friars – ie- cleaning chapel, financial support, support Uganda Mission.
Many of us don’t have Carmelite Friars near.
Pray for vocations.
What might we do to prepare?
The systemizing of formation is a great help. Reminder of prayer being 1st in our vocation is vital. We were drawn to Carmel because of Rule and commitment, must continuing to foster that.
Secular Dominicans don’t seem to have the community we have.
Approval of formation guidelines - we are training grounds for spiritual life –ie- needed in parishes
Pope John Paul II’s father kept telling him he should be a priest. Seeds must be planted.
